How does CircleDNA ensure that its customers’ swab samples are highly protected and confidential?
All of CircleDNA’s laboratory technicians who handle samples are bound by professional codes of conduct, and are also required to follow standards and processes that ensure the integrity of swab samples. We have strict policies to ensure customer confidentiality, including segregation of the sample (which is labeled with a barcode) and any personal information of the customer.
How long will CircleDNA keep my DNA sample? Can I ask for you to destroy my swab after the testing is done?
According to our laboratory standard operating procedures, our CircleDNA customers' physical saliva samples are all discarded as clinical waste via Environmental Protection Department-licensed clinical waste collectors after a 3-month retention period from the report release date.
Does CircleDNA comply with ISO standards for data?
Yes, we have received the internationally recognised ISO27001 certification for our information security management system. ISO27001 is a series of detailed requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continually improving an information security management system (ISMS) to help organisations make the potentially sensitive assets they hold become more secure. The effectiveness of the ISO27001 certification process and the overall standard was validated in a large-scale study conducted in 2020.
